Redneck BBQ

Redneck BBQ

Redneck BBQ is a southern traditional type of cooking that has become an all time favorite in the south. To BBQ to its true meaning is all about slow-cooking, using low and indirect heat to smoke the meat for hours. However, some do prefer to just marinate the meat for about an hour or 2 and slap some Redneck BBQ on it. And it’s still just as tasty. A few of my favorite BBQ meats are ribs and pork chops. Along with some good ole BBQ baked beans and some fried taters and onions!! You can’t go wrong!! Slap this BBQ on your next meal!

The Keys To A Great Redneck BBQ

There are a few keys to making the perfect BBQ is the preparation, the ingredients and the cooking technique. Additionally cooking it slow and low using indirect heat and a combination of wood and charcoal. Therefore smoking the meat until it is tender and juicy.

  • Spice Rub/BBQ Sauce: Firstly a combo of herbs and spices. Including paprika, chili powder, garlic powder and onion powder. By rubbing into the meat will add an amazing flavor. Then the by combining with a tangy, vinegar-based sauce to create a balance between the spicy, smoky meat and the tangy sauce.
  • Wood Used: Secondly the type of wood that you use for smoking provides the smoke that gives the BBQ the unique flavor. The most popular woods that are used when creating the perfect BBQ are hickory, mesquite and applewood. Therefore each wood type brings a unique flavor to the meat.
  • Cooking Technique: Finally the cooking technique is the most important to the perfect BBQ. Cooking low and slow for several hours allows the flavors to cook throughout the meat. Therefore allowing the meat to become tender and juicy. Additionally creating a mouth-watering flavorful dish!! I am getting hungry as I share this with you.
